Kuching Hidden Gem: Porc by Fos.bros

Updated: Mar 6, 2019

For Malaysians, it is no surprise for us to find delicious burger at roadsides or the kaki-lima of some of the most hidden corners in our neighbourhood. And this is especially true for us Kuchignites. We’ve heard of the legendary burger stalls hidden inside housing areas, or the mouth watering Ramly burgers along the roadside somewhere, but what we have today, is a humble burger stall with delicious, juicy, 100 gram homemade pork patty.

Hidden within Tabuan Laru is this amazing burger stall, operated by 5 amazing youngsters from different background, heck, some of them work as architect during the day. But despite the difference in education background & working environment, they were all primary school friends that have the same burning passion to serve delicious burgers.

We attached their menu at the end for your reference. *Spoiler alert* the price is too cheap to be true (but it is LOL).

Everything except the buns, the tomatoes, and the greens are homemade.- Porc

Their pork patties are made with the perfect lean-to-fat ratio, marinated, and grilled to perfection. Trust me when I say those patties are worth dying for. *wiping saliva off my mouth as I recalled the juiciness of it*

To best satisfy your cravings, the Twin Porc Cheese Burger with double 100g patties is the best choice to start. Double juicy pork patties with homemade caramelized onions and tomato slices all in one package to deliver a heavy punch to your palate, ensuring you 100% satisfaction.

Next up, take your palate on a rollercoaster ride with the Bella Chan Burger. It took me a while to understand why it is called Bella Chan as I was looking up and down the menu to look for the sambal burger that my friend told me, until... it hits me.

While it looks and sounds weird on paper, and also in my head, the taste of this crazy burger definitely does not confuse me. It is delicious. It is a little spicy, especially if you’re like me who only take spicy foods occasionally, and if you can’t take spicy food at all, but, the combination of the bun, pork patty and the belacan is so harmonious that it feels almost impossible.

Some other burgers on the menu also include this homemade belacan puree, such as the Porc Belly Burger.

But what if you couldn’t finish double pork patty and you can’t take spicy foods? Well, go classic, go original, go for their Porc Original Burger. Equally as satisfying without burning your mouth, and probably your stomach.

Oh, and don’t be afraid to get your hands dirty, because they will be. There’s sinks at the kopitiam next door, so… no worries la.

The best thing about this burger stall, and the reason I called it humble is because of their price list. I mean, where can you get restaurant quality pork patty for the price of less than RM10? Other than their Twin Porc Cheese Burger that cost you RM10, and their whole new Twin Mix Burger that combines both the pork patty and the pork belly that costs RM12, everything else is below RM10.

They are open around 8.30pm from Tuesday to Sunday. They might be a little late because of their day job, but still, it’s worth the wait. Let’s not forget the fact that they are constantly improving, to really satisfy you to the maximum.

So, when’s the last time you’ve had burger with homemade pork patties prepared fresh by our local youngsters?
